A RETURN OF CONFIDENCE STABILISING THE FRANC EXCHANGE CONTROL REQUESTED PARIS, Dec. 27. M. Bonnet in the Senate again rejected exchange control as a solution of France’s problems. He revealed that the Bank of France has recovered 10,000,000,000 francs worth of gold in recent months. Hence the Treasury can easily stabilise the franc at its present level, thanks to profits from further devaluations and the return of confidence which permitted the repayment of the £14,000,000 railway loan.
