AUCKLAND MEETING
SECOND DAY'S FIELDS BRIEF REMEW OF CARD The Auckland Racing Club’s midsummer meeting will be continued at Ellerslie to-day, when the. King’s Plate and the Summer Cup will be two of the feature events of the programme. Fields m these events, and also in the Ponsonby Hurdles and the Criterion Handicap, are on the small side, but there should again be some good racing. The clash of and Royal Chief in the King’s Plate is going to hold a good deal of interest, and the presence of Amigo and Taurangi in the Criterion Handicap will also be a feature. The following may be in request in their respective engagements to-day: Fergusson Handicap.—Gold Vaals, Nightdress. King’s Plate.—Courtcraft, Royal Chief. Ponsonby Hurdles.—Royal Mimic, Irish Comet. Criterion Handicap.—Amigo, Taurangi. Summer Cup.—Dark Shadow, Jonathan. Waitemata Handicap.—Privy Seal, Quadroon, Kena.
