AWATEA’S FAST TRIP

SYDNEY TO WELLINGTON. I Ter Press Association. ] WELLING! ON, Dec. 27. The Awatea cleared Sydney Heads at 8.54 p.m. on Friday and entered Wellington Heads at 6.41 this morning, lowering her previous record by an hour, to two days 7 hours 47 minutes, averaging 22.19 knots. The master said that the record was merely incidental, the object being to berth at 7.45 and to give everyone a full day ashore.
