TEMPORARY RELEASE FROM PRISON
r-KMAX PASTORS' BRIEF LIBERTY. BERLIN, Dec. 26. It is learned that a number of pastors were recently released only to enjoy liberty for the Christmas holidays, after which they have been ordered to return to prison. Dr. Niemoller’s request io spend Christmas away from prison was refused. REPLY TO THE POPE ACC USED OF FOSTERING HATREDS. : Received Dec. 27, 1.45 p.m. BERLIN, Dec. 26. The official news agency accuses the Pope of fostering hatreds and making unfounded statements. In a message from the Vatican City published in yesterday's “Chronicle,” it was stated that the Pope vigorously attacked German Church policy when he received his Cardinals. He said there was real and actual religious persecution in Germany despite efforts to present the contrary impression.
