LOWER TAXATION

HIGHER WAGES PLAN SOUTH AUSTRALIAN BUDGET ADELAIDE, Sept. 9. The Premier, Mr Butler, in submitting the Budget to Parliament, announced taxation reductions for the general public totalling £285,000 and increased wages and salaries, restored pensions, and extra work and increased rations for unemployed, amounting to £539,000. Despite this and the cut in the disabilities grant he estimates to finish the year on June 30 next with a surplus of £3984. The concessions include a reduction from Is 4d to Is 2d in the £1 on al taxable income from personal exertion. All basic wage earners with one child will be exempt from taxation.
