CELEBRATING ITS DIAMOND JUBILEE.- All Saints’ Church at Foxton, now celebrating its diamond jubilee. In the early sixties the site where the church stands belonged to an adjacent Maori pa. and it was purchased by Captain Francis Robinson for £l00 in gold for the specific purpose of erecting a church. Captain Robinson gave the land to the Church of New Zealand with this condition attached.
