Police intervention terminated the activities of four small boys, ages ranging from nine to twelve, who, styling themselves the “Purple Mask Gang,” carried out raids on departmental stores in Napier. Masks, toy handcuffs, and guns were among the stolen goods. All of the boys were placed under the supervision of the welfare officer. In addition one is to receive a thrashing.
