WANGANUI ASSOCIATION COMPETITION MATCHES TEAMS FOR TO-MORROW The brilliant exhibition of the soccer code given by the Australians last week should do much towards improving the standard locally as most players, especially the juniors, had no previous conception of such perfect team-work and ball control as displayed by the visitors. In the opinion of the team manager, Mr. S. A. Storey, their high scoring was due chiefly to the unselfishness of his players when on the field and this is a lesson which local players might well learn with advantage to their teams. The association’s Cup competitions will be resumed to-morrow and it is expected that players of all grades will be keen to get out on the field to try some of the moves learnt from last week’s match. The following are the grounds and referees: — Seniors Thistle v. Athletic, on No. 1 ground Victoria Park, at 2.45 p.m. Referee, Mr. B. Phillips. : Rangers v. Eastbrooke, on No. 2 ground Victoria Park, at 2.45 p.m. ' Referee, Mr. Phizacklea. Juniors Marist v\ Technical College, on Victoria Park No. 1 ground, at 1.30 p.m. . Referee, Mr. F. Bates.
