THE DERBY FAVOURITES EASE IN LAST CALL OVER. [ British Official Wireless. ] RUGBY’. b Alay 24. The prices of the first and second favourites for the Derby, Pay Up and Bala Hissar, were both weaker at last night’s call over. Sir Alfred Butt’s Noble King kept his position in the market. Gordon Richards, the champion jockey, who will ride Taj Akbar on "Wednesday, rode his eighth consecutive winning mount yesterday. Three years ago he broke a 50-yc-ar-old record by riding 259 winners, and already this season he has ridden 49 winners. BETTING MARKET DERBY FAVOURITES. LONDON. May 25. The popular selections for the Derby are Noble King, Pay Up, and Taj Akbar. KING WILL NOT ATTEND DERBY DINNER CANCELLED. LONDON, May 25. Because of Court mourning, the King will not attend the Derby, and the customary dinner for members of the .lackey Club will not be held; but His Majesty is inviting a few friends with Turf associations to a dinner at York House. The King is not abandoning the Derby dinner.
