I Mr R. AV. Jeffery, of Melbourne, Is a visitor to AVanganui, and is a guest at Foster’s Hotel. Mr and Mrs H. Warner, of .Sydney, are visitors to Wanganui and arc staying at Foster’s Hotel. Reference to the illness of Mr Tancred Cooper was made at last night’s meeting of the AVanganui Tourist League when a motion of sympathy with him was passed. Miss Maragret Snadden, of Gonville, left AVanganui on Friday to take up a position on the staff of the Rotorua High .School. Miss Snadden was formerly on the staff of the AVanganui East School. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs J. B. Cottcriil, M.P. fqr Wanganui, Ormond AVilson M.P. for Rangitikei, and H. Howell at last night’s meeting of the AVanganui Tourist League. Mr. G. W. R. Healey, of the AVanganui automatic telephone exchange staff, has received notice of his transfer to the Hamilton exchange. Mr. ( Healey for several years has been a prominent member of the Queen Alexandra’s Own Band. Chaplain C. Fraser has been appointed chaplain to the Wanganui district of the Boy Scouts’ Association. This appointment was made at a recent meeting of the AVanganui Executive, when tributes were paid to the interest Chaplain Fraser has taken for some time in .Scouting activities. He has given assistance to a numbei of troops by coaching them in Maori hakas and other subjects.
