BOESCH v. WOODS A SPECTACULAR BOLT ANTICIPATED SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY A contest which gives promise of providing thrills will be” staged at the Opera House on Wednesday evening when Paul “Bombshell" Boesch is to meet Joe “Kopach" Woods. The latter put up a splendid showing here recently against the redoubtable Jack Forsgren, to whom he was conceding a big handicap in weight, but battled gamely to be beaten on points only, and then there flvas not much between them. His reappearance here will be awaited with keen interest. Paul Boesch is described as the most spectacular wrestler in the world, and an out standing exponent of the drop-kick and flying tackle. His records stamps him as one of the world’s best matmen. Boesch is an ex-lifeguardsman, a position he held at Long Beach, and while there he distinguished himself as a swimmer. He takes a keen interest in beach patrols and life-saving clubs, and on his tour through New Zealand is making inquiries concerning the methods of New’ Zealand clubs. When he steps into the ring on Wednesday he will show that he is not only a specialist in the drop-kick, but that he is well versed in all the orthodox holds and counters. Boesch will, however, find himself up against a worthy opponent in Woods, who can take all the “rough stuff" that comes his way, and retaliate in kind. The contest gives every indication of proving one- of the most likely and exciting yet staged here. This bout will be the first in which these two mca have been drawn together.
