FULL RESTORATION

FIRE BOARD EMPLOYEES WAGES AT CHRISTCHURCH [ Per Press Association. ] CHRISTCHURCH, May 12. Pull restoration of all wage reductions to its employees was authorised by the Christchurch Fire Board at its meeting to-night. This action will bring the standard of wages back to that of 1929, before the 10 per cent, cut was made. Since that date the board had restored 5 per Cent. of the reduction. The restoration is to be retrospective to April 1. A request from the firemen that they be given one day’s holiday in every four was deferred until more was known about the operation of the 40hour week.
