STUDENTS’ PRANK

RED FLAG HOISTED SUPREME COURT BUILDING WASHINGTON. May 7. The red flag of Communist Russia, with hammer and sickle, was discovered at dawn to-day flying on the flagstaff above the imposing Supreme Court building. At the base of the pole was a copy of a Harvard University “Lampoon,” containing an article entitled “Down with Capitalism.” The regular guard compoc-ed of four men passed by the flagstaff all night, yet the pranksters not only succeeded in raising the emblem unknown to them, but so skilfully knotted the halyards that the removal of the flag necessitate! long labour by the police and firemen who were compelled to employ a high extension ladder before they •could tear down the emblem.
