THE DARKEST HOUR HAS GONE
! Sir-—The most momentous year jin our history is over. Tn New Zealand, at least, the darkest hour is past; tie dawn is breaking. The old system is dead and a. better is in e'ess of birth. Medicine and surg<>|r, as we know them, are rapidly passing away and belter methods are takilig their place. The way to freedom from poverty, unemployment, suffering and disease is opening wide; but the difficulty, still, is to persuade the people to walk it. The eyes of many are is vet holdeu; the great changes that are taking place are being brought about, for the most part, through but in spite of the insriti !• «ns concerned; but from all over the laud, and from ot'< countries as well, come » s luragenv ,t ) and promise of suppor 1 wi’- assura " of awakening. Health of !.<• iv, mi: d. or soul, can be nai:.;:/- ■ !. or rc.ained, only through right thinking, rig; : feeding, right habits an , ; iv-c, u i • health through » >. t-> the s:n i-'c laws concerned. The eon, pete! ivc struggle for individual gain must give way to co-operat ion for the roinman ! good. ‘'The go-getter must become the go-giver. ” There must be willingness to comply, even though personal interest might for a time appear to be threatened. The causes of po\erty and unemployment are known; and the remedies, both physical and moral, arc to hand. The causes of disease, including cancer, are known; and practically all the means of prevention are available. One thing we lack; sufficient. response to the spirit, of whom the laws concerned are an outward expression. For their success in finally convincing me of the fundamental rottenness if the late economic system, 1 wish to tender my thanks to Messrs. Kobins, Tomkies, and Marks, and the member* of the Douglas Social Credit movement generally. In appreciation, I have forwarded to the secretary a cheque for five guineas as a second contribution to the movement’s funds.—l am, etc., I’LKIC WILLIAMS. 45 Wickstreet Street, Wanganui,
