Average prices realised for fruit and vegetables in the Wellington markets last month are reported by the local fruit inspector to the Department of Agriculture as follow: Apples.—Statesman, 5s 6d to 7s per case; Stunners, 4s 6d to 8s (id: Dougherty, 4s to 7s; Delicious, 6s to .10s; Washington, 4s 6d to 7s 6d; Jonathan, 6s to 9s; Granny Smith, 7s to 9s 6d. Pears.—Winter Cole, 7s to 8s per 3-bushel case; Winter Nclis, 6s to 7s; Vicars, 5s to 6s. Lemons.—Choice cured, 9s to 12s pep case; others, 5s to 7s. Passions, 15s to 22s per lease; tomatoes hothouse, 9d to Is a lb. Cabbage, 6s to 13s a sack; cauliflowers; 6s to 13s per sack; potatoes, reds, £9 15s to £lO 5s per ton; whites, £9 to £10; beetroot, Is- to Is 6d per case; parsnips, 5s to 6s per ease; kumaras, 4s to 7s per sugar-bag; pumpkins, 2s 6d to 4s per sack; turnips, 2s to 2s 6d persack; brussel sprouts, 7s to 9s per bag; swedes, 2s 6d to 3s per sack; spinach, 2s to 10s per case; rhubarb, 6s to 13s per dozen bundles; celery, 2s to 4s per dozen heads.
