NEW SHIPPING SERVICE
AUSTRALIAN TRADE WITH INDIA Received Aug. 10, 12.35 a.m. •SYDNEY, Aug. 9. 'l’h c acliug Prime Minister, Dr. Earle Page, announced that agents of the British India Lino intemlvl to inaugurate a diiect shipping service between Australian ports and the Bay of Bengal from the beginning of .1936, Cargo would be carried at direct rates of freight, which would obviate extra costs of transhipment, and tho service would bo two monthly. Dr. I’age, expressing gratification, said the new service would conduce a greater volume of Australian trade with British. India and Burma.
