I COMPENSATION CLAIMED | WATERSIDER'S INJURY PREVIOUS PAYMENTS MADE. I Ter Press Association. | AUCKLAND, July IS. During the hearing of a compensation claim by the Arbitration Court todav the claimant, Alfred Douglas, watersider, said that he had been injured six times previously and had received compensation each lime. On this occasion his back was injured by a bale of wool, ami his counsel said that medical evidence would show that the spine had been fractured. The company contended that Douglas was now able to earn full wages. The company’s counsel said: “This is your seventh claim since 1928, is it not?” Claimant: “1 could not say.” In reply to the Judge, he "said that he could not recollect the exact number, counsel then mentioning an injury to a leg in .1928, to his back in 1929, to a leg in 1930, to a kneecap in 193.1, to a finger in 1932, and to a hand in the same year. Claimant said he remembered having got compensation for these. Claimant’s counsel protested against this line of questioning, saying that, it must, be intended to prejudice the claimant.
