FEBRUARY CARNIVAL

ANOTHER CHORAL TABLEAU. In view of the highly successful function held last Carnival it has been decided to again stage a Firm’s and Local Bodies’ Choral TTableau, which will take place at High Jinks on the Racecourse on Friday, February 23. In addition to all those who competed last year there is a likelihood of several new firms entering the field. Judges haven’t yet been decided upon, but, failing the appointment of an outside judge, Messrs. Gordon Mcßeth and F. I. Jones will probably be asked to act. Mr. C. Atkinson will supervise the competition. Conditions are as follow: (1) Own selection—about three or four minutes; (2) each tableau to consist of not more than 25 or less than 15 members; (3) points will be assessed on the basis of the best all-round performance; (4) no outsider will be permitted except the pianist—each member must be directly employed or interested in the firm or local body concerned; (5) a draw will be made for order of appearance and all entrants must be ready to move off in procession from the Avenue by 9.15 p.m. on Friday, February 23; and (6) entries close with the secretary. Box 276, Wanganui. ou Thursday, February 1. 1934. at 5 p.m.
