LADIES’ ASSOCIATION SATURDAY’S RESULTS. At Gonville Domain another series of matches was played between United and Woolworth’s. United, winning the toss elected to bat and quickly lost lour wickets for 7 runs, but Alisses Corby and. Lockhart made a splendid stand, enabling tnem to declare at 4.3 U pan. with six wickets for 123. Miss Corby (54 not out) and. Miss Lockhart (33) did best, while Miss fcjtewart also helped with a well-played 15. Woolworth’s did not fare very well against United’s bowling, being dismissed for the small total of-3/. On going in again they fared rather worse, having at call of time nine wickets down for 25, thus saving an eightpoint win. Bowling for United Miss Corby took five wickets for 3 runs and four for 6 in the second innings, Mrs. Simpson taking three for 13 and two for 7. For Woolworth’s Miss Larsen took three for 15. Miss Horne took two for 20, and this bowler was the only double-figure scorer with 17. Owing to Haydon’s not being able to field a team, due to having to work, Southern Cross gain eight points by default. The following matches were played the previous Saturday:— Technical College v. Haydon’s.— Tech, compiled 150 for three wickets and declared (E. Good 71, N. Bullock 26, B. Hunt 22 and R. Neyer 20 not out). Haydon’s, batting only eight players, were dismissed for under 30 and their second innings realised 54 (N. Carroll 8 and 80, V. Ransome 6). Bowling: R. Smith took two for 35 and K. McKissar one for 5. For Tech. N. Bullock took five for 5; B. Hunt six fir 24 and R. Noyer two for 8. United v. Woollen Mills.—United reached 85 (Miss Corby 32 not out, Miss Owen 24 and Miss Simpson 16). Woollen Mills responded with <Bl on call of tim e (G. Newman 23, Te Mana 14 and D. Harman 13). Bowling for Mills Miss Te Mana took three for 9, B. Barnes three for 29. For United Miss Corby four for 15, and Miss Reid three for 36. Woolworth’s v. Southern Cross. — Woolworth’s made 170 (Miss Horne 83, Miss Brown 28). Southern Cross, making 175, gained a five-point win. Bowling for Southern Cross Miss Fifield took three for 26 and for Woolworth’s Miss Grace five for 46, Miss Fificld getting 82 and Miss Alexander 38 for the winners.
