FEATHERWEIGHT BOUT EXTRAORDINARY POSITION MISSING OPPONENTS Received Dec. 18, 8.6 p.in. LONDON, Dec. 18. An extraordinary position has prison over the fight on Tuesday in London between ex-Scaman Watson, British featherweight champion, and Al Brown, of Cuba, world’s bantamweight champion. The latter was guaranteed £lOOO for the fight, but was apparently mysteriously marooned at Algiers. Tarleton was proceeding homeward from Australia partly by ’piano in order to deputise for Brown, if necessary, but consternation was caused by the discovery that he had put on too much weight during the journey. Dave Crowley is now expected to fight Watson on Tuesday.

BOUTS AT NAPIER OXLEY BEATS FRANKLIN LUTTRELL-SULLIVAN TUSSLE [ Per Press Association. J NAPIER, Dec. 1«. Ted Oxley, New Zealand lightweight champion, gained a points decision at Napier to-night against Joo Franklin after a gruelling contest. In the final round Oxley was groggy from a whirlwind attack by Franklin, who used his right in successive vicious swings. Oxley managed to hang on owing to Franklin being utterly exhausted. In a heavy slogging bout Luttrell gained a points decision over Sullivan, tho bout being characterised by both men making the pace, each taking severe punishment. The decision astonished the house, which almost unanimously voiced strong disapproval.
