WANGANUI EAST CLUB NEW SEASON’S ACTIVITIES RESUSCITATION OF CLUB Until a couple of years ago there was a fairly strong swimming club at Wanganui East, but activities had been temporarily suspended until last night, when a meeting was held at All Saints’ Schoolroom with a view to reviving the club. Air. F. Earles presided over an attendance of about thirty. After discussion on the advisability of forming another club and on receipt of several assurances of support, it was decided to form the new club under the name of the Wanganui East Swimming Club. The names of over thirty members were listed, and judging by the enthusiasm displayed, the prospects for the success of the new club arc very bright. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Air. A. Stuart, AI.P.; president, Dr. Kendrick Christie; vicepresidents, Messrs. E. Walpole, F. Earles and J. H. Scott; chairman, Air. F. Earles; com in it tee, Alessrs. H. Alainwaring, FL Dennison, B. Mills, P. Healey, A. Mainwaring, H. Hawke, .1. H. Scott, J. Phizacklea and two ladies to be elected; hon. secretary, Mr. R. J. Harrison; hon. treasurer, Air. T. Dennison; delegates to Centre, Alessrs. R. Harrison and H. Hawke; hon. auditor, Air. J. Phizacklea; handicapper, Air. F. Roydhouse; starter, Air. R. Harrison. The club colours will be black and white, and the opening night. <vill be decided on as soon as possible.
