THOUSANDS ON STRIKE WAGE INCREASE SOUGHT (By Telegraph—Press Association Copyright) CHESTEK (Penn.), Sept. 26. A strike has been declared at the giant assembly plant of the Ford Company here, between 4uoo and 6000 mon walking out in orderly fashion, every department being aifcctcd. The strikers 1 principal demand is for a wage increase of from 16 to 25 dollars. They are claiming a 32-hour week at 50 cents an hour. Under the newlyinaugurated plan, the minimum wage had been reduced to .6 dollars from the former wage of 20 dollars.
