Time, 1.16 2-5. MANAWATU RACING CLUB NEXT WEEK S MEETING. Judging by the acceptances received for the opening day of the Manawalu Racing Club’s autumn meeting, to be held at Awapuni on Wednesday and Thursday of next week, there should be some interesting racing at the fixture. The weight-for-age a vents as well as the handicap races will be well contested, and altogether it appears a bright programme. Though slightly down on aggregate when compared with last year’s acceptors, the total of 92 for the opening day is three in excess of the actual starters of twelve months ago. A particularly pleasing feature is the response where the Awapuni Cup is concerned, all seven horses originally nominated having survived acceptance night.
