The strike of the manufacturing section of thc Lancashire cotton industry began to-day. There were no indications of weakening on either side. The extent to which the cotton weavers have responded to the strike call is not yet fully known, but from reports available in various centres it would appear that a considerable num bet of mills are at work and in some towns in the south and south-east oi Lancashire conditions are almost normal.
