THE JAPANESE FLEET OUTCOME OF THE BOYCOTT NUMEROUS NAVAL PATROLS LOCAL ANXIETY INCREASES [By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright, Received Aug. 30, 11.55 p.m. SHANGHAI, Aug. 30. Increased Japanese naval patrols with fixed bayonets in the Hongkew districts, where armoured car patrols are also in evidence, are increasing local anxiety regarding the boycott. It was officially stated by the Japan ese consulate to-day that a portion ot the Japanese fleet is returning shortly to Shanghai as a precautionary measure. Its arrival is expected to intensify the bitterness. Manchurian Fighting It is reported in well-informed Chin ese circles that the Executive of the Nanking Government is considering the despatch of an expeditionary force to Manchuria, numbering 150,000, bn* not before the Lytton report is pub lished. It is believed that there will be an extensive mobilisation in Japan in preparation for a counter-stroke should the Chinese plans materialise.
