THE PICTURES “Sailor’s Holiday,” a melange of mix-ups, mirth and misadventures, will bp shown at the Town Hall on Saturday evening. Alan Hale and Sally Eilers lead a strong cast. DRAINAGE On Wednesday evening a largelyattended meeting of settlers of Ohakea and Makowhni was held in the Ohakea Hall, and as the outcome it is exported that 100 unemployed men will be put on to improve the drainage at Makowhai, where conditions are very bad luring the winter months. The solution of the difficulty is said to be quite simple if the Makowhai Stream, a tributary of the Rangitikei River, is made so that it will permanently take off superfluous water.
