MR. TRUSSELL’S CONCERT A FINE PROGRAMME A large and appreciative audience attended the Majestic Theatre last evening when Mr H. J. Trussell’s Orchestra, assisted by leading artists, gave patrons a musical treat. The Bridges Trio, as usual, delighted j all with their Hawaiian steel guitars; while Mr S. Kendall was in splendid voice and had to respond to a well merited encore. Frances Bridges received an ovation for her xylophone solo with orchestral accompaniment and as an encore, a xylophone trio was played with the assistance of Nancy and Clifford Bridges. Miss T. Pepper was very successful in her song, the audience demanding an encore. Mrs H. J. Trussell gave a delightful rendition of a violin solo and responded to an emphatic recall. The violin duet by Mrs Trussell and’ Mr B. Nicholls was a very fine number, and showed to advantage. the ability of both performers- It was heartily received. The Mayor, Mr W. J, Rogers, expressed his hearty appreciation of the efforts of Mr H. j. Trussell’s Orchestra and all those who had assisted in providing so fine an entertainment. He wished to especially thank Mr Hayward for granting the free use of the Majestic Theatre, the Bristol Piano Company for the use of the piano, the press of Wanganui, the collectors and all others who had so kindly given their servicesThe accompaniments were as usual, artistically played by Mrs S. Kendall* A most successful concern concluded wit’ the National Antaem. The concert realised £l6 16s.
