OPEN REVOLT IN SPAIN
OUTBREAK ON FRONTIER LOYALISTS CLAIM VICTORY STATE OF WAR DECLARED [By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.] Received Dec. 14. 5.5 p.m. MADRID, Dec. 12. A military revolt has broken out in Jaca, where there is an important frontier fort. Detachments of Loyalist infantry and artillery have been sent. Four trains from Saragossa were also ordered ro be held in readiness. The Minister of the Interior states that Jaca is completely isolated. Later reports arriving indicate the collapse of the Jaca revolt. Loyal troops from Saragossa met a detachment of revels marching on Huesca and routed them, artillery fire killing many, and 1000 prisoners being taken. The leaders of the movement will be tried to-morrow. While the Government insists that the Jaca rebellion is isolated, reports from other sources state that the rebels have reached Ayerbe and are pro ceeding in the direction of Huesca. Troops from Saragossa going to Jaca were held up at Ayerbe, where the railwav was cut. General Berenguer, following a meeting of Cabinet which lasted two and t half hours, belittled the outbreak at Jaca. He said that no sooner had they stopped a little hole in one place than another comes into evidence. He attached no importance to it and was sure that all would end in smoke. The Minister of the Interior said the Government, in order to avoid a misunderstanding, had ordered a censorship as regards news of the revolt, and also to labour disputes of a subversive character. A Council of Ministers authorised the Captain-General in the region of Aragon to declare a state of war in his territory. _____
