THE CRITICS AGAIN

BRADMAN’S POPULARITY ATTITUDE OF TEAM MATES LONDON, Dec. 11Bradman’s immense popularity with the public is not echoed by his team mates, writes Mr Geoffrey Tebbutt, an Australian journalist in “With the 1930 Australians.” After pointing out that Bradman never got a swelled head the writer says that the £lOOO gift widened the breach. The others did not grudge Bradman his recognition, but the detached way that Bradman took the gift led one of the players to say: “He is not one. of us.” There was not an open breach, as Bradman was content to lead a life aloof- The manager (Mr Kelly) lacked the firmness to take the situation in hand before it got beyond him.
