M.C.C. TEAM’S TOUR

VISIT TO SOUTH AFRICA MATCH AT KIMBERLEY Received Nov. 16, 5.5 p.m. CAPETOWN, Nov. 15. At Kimberley 'the M.C.C. cricket team had their first experience of a matting wicket in their match against West Criqualand. This is an interesting match as the Griquas are expected to provide a number of players for the two matting tests at Johannesburg. All the South African selectors were present. Balsakas was the most impressive player and probably played himself into the tests. He is nimble on his feet and offered a stubborn defence. With Helfrich, a 17-year-old player, he added 100 for the fifth wicket in 95 minutes.

When stumps were drawn four wickets were down for 230 runs. Nicholoson made 57, Balsaka 82 not out, and Helfrich, 36, not out.
