Main line railways negotiations with lhe largest group of motor bus companies in the provinces, resulted in an agreement regarding the co-ordination of road and rail traffic, the rail companies acquiring a substantial, although not a controlling, interest in each bus company. The agreement covers practically th e whole of the English provinces and also parts of Wales and Scotland and involves 7500 buses.
