HERE AND THERE

In reviewing British International Pictures’ latest production “Tesha,” the dramatic critic of the “{Sunday Despatch,” Loudon, writes as follows: —‘ln years to come we shall remember Jamieson Thomas as the male star in “Tesha,” just as we shall remember Emil Jannings iu “The Last Cum mand,” Clive Brook in “Forgotten Faces” and IL B. Warner as the “King of Kings.” “Tesha” was adapted from the well-read novel by <the Countess Barcynska. Maria, Corda well remembered for her wonderful work in “Private Life of Helen of Troy” plays the leading part in a powerful story of a beautiful danseuse and the eternal conflict i.e., the passionate craving of motherhood and the irresistible call of her art. Undoubtedly, Cinema Art Films who release this picture during the coming season, have an exceptionally strong attraction, especially with its wide appeal tu women particularly.

Miriam Fauche, who was one of the screen’s highest paid artists seven years ago, has come out of retirement to enact an important role in Universal’s “The Four Flusher.” featuring George Lewis and Marian Nixon. Others in the cast are Churchill Ross; Hayden {Stevenson, Eddie Phillips, Buit Mclntosh, Otto Hollman, Patricia Caron, Jimmy Aye and Wilfred North. The picture was directed by Wesley Ruggles. * * * * Notwithstanding the popularity of slick-haired sheiks and big blustering he-men heroes, one of the most popular actors on the screen is middle-aged, with gray thinning hair. He is Ralph Lewis, veteran actor of stage and screen, and on the basis of fan mail he is more popular with fans than the majority of leading mon in pictures. His latest role is in the “Shield of Honour” the Universal Jewel-produc-tion.
