EVELYN BRENT
Evelyn Brent, now playing featured roles for Paramount, and who recently completed a talking part in the first Paramount all-dialogue picture, “Interference,” was born in Tampa, Florida, but received her early education in New Y ork. Her family moved to Los Angeles later and there she became interested in pictures and joined Ihe ranks of the “extras.” But Miss Brent thought her progress too slow in Hollywood, so she went abroad and made pictures in Spain, Holland, Italy and France. She also got much valuable experience on the legitimate stage in London. That experience has served her in good stead during the making of “Interference.” Returning to America, the actress was seen in a series of underworld pictures, but first came into real prominence as the heroine of Paramount ’s “Underworld,” the picture which also made the name of George Bancroft. Evelyn Brent is sft. 4in. tall, weighs 115 lbs., and has dark brown hair and eyes. Her latest appearances have been in “The Showdown,” “The Dragnet,” ami opposite Emil Jannings in “Th?, Last Command.”
The “Show Boat” company under the direction of Harry pollard has returned to Univeral City from the location representing the Mississippi River. At Universal City, a cross section of Chicago of 1890 has been created for the scones which will be taken during the next week.
