EMPIRE TRADE
The business people of Wanganui, particularly the retailers in Victoria Avenue, are this week making their annual effort to bring home to the general public the advantages of buying and wearing British Goods, and no one knows better than the shopkeeper himself that in inducing his customer to buy the British article he is giving not only good advice but also the Best Value. Messrs Markham and London, the eminent Specialists in Men’s Wear, have long advocated the, wearing of only British-made apparel, and the increase in their business shows the wisdom of their policy. In fitting out their customers with
their English-made Suits, Shirts, etc., a desire in others to obtain the same effect in appearance and wearing quality has been inspired, with the result that Markham and London’s list of customers increased daily. During the last few weeks this firm has been busy opening up their new season’s supply of Sports Coats, Flannel Trousers, Shirts, Underwear and various novelties direct from British manufacturers, and give the assurance that for refinement, distinction and quality, together with an almost unlimited selection the most particular purchaser can be guaranteed satisfaction.
