Charged by Wounded Elephant
Mr Benjamin Burbridge. American gorilla hunter, who lately returned after ten months in the Belgian Congo, declared that tropical posts were more dangerou.s than the beasts of the jungle. During Mr Burbridge’s stay, a wounded bull elephant charged, tearing up the trees in its pathway. Ho felled the animal with one bullet, but it rose and. continued its furious career. A second shot dropped him three yards from the hunter.
