ANIMAL MONEY-MAKERS

AT PARAMOUNT’S HOLLYWOOD There is in Hollywood an extensive colony of animal motion picture stars. They are all very highly trained and usually manage to net a considerable income for their owners. At Ihe Paramount studios there is a cat which may often be seen working on the various sets. It is well known to the studio workers by the name of “Puzzums.” “Puzzums” is the chief support of two girls who drifted into the film city seven years ago, and have been working as 44 extras” ever since. They discovered the kitten some years ago in an alleyway, half-starved. After twoyears of intensive training 44 Puzzums” is one of the most famous of animal stars.

Recently a Hollywood reporter was surprised to find on the set where Clara Bow was making some scenes for her latest picture. 44 The Fleets’ In,” a small animal which ate nothing bur eucalyptus leaves. It was one of the only two Australian bears in Hollywood. The other one is owned by Louise Brooks, another Paramount player. Miss Bow states that she is attempting to train the animal for the movies, and she finds it most receptive. It is probable, therefore, that the Australian bear will be added to the animal money-makers of Hollywood.
