Aleads; vice-presidents, Alessrs D. T. Couper, G. Rose, J. Alorgan; secretary and treasurer, Alias A. AL Boshier; selector and coach, Air 8. Meads. The balance sheet for last year showed the club to be in a very satisfactory financial position, the balance being about £5. The club’s chief success in the field was the winning of the Oroua Sub-Union’s seven-a-sido tournament. The membership fee for this season will be 3s, and the club will nominate one team for the Sub-Union’s competitions. The members of the club arc showing great enthusiasm, the first of the weekly practices being well attended. In future, practices will be held every Tuesday and Saturday. It was arranged to hold a “working bee” before the competitions, in order to improve the playing ground. On Easter Monday evening the club held a most successful dance in the local hall, visitors from the surrounding districts being present. Alusie was supplied by Miss Walton and Air Feeney, both of Feilding. GENERAL NEWS. On Saturday afternoon the Library Committee held a meeting, Air J. A. Shaw presiding. It was decided to hold a card-evening next Saturday, and an afternoon tea stall in order Io obtain funds to augment the library’s collection of books. The fortnightly meeting of the M.U.1.0.0.F., Rangiwahia Lodge, was held last week, N.G. Bro. J. A Shaw, presiding. The club successfully defended the Salek Cup at a card evening against the Apiti Lodge. This latter lodge has signified its desire to attempt to win the cup again. The next meeting of the Lodge will be held on Friday, April 27, owing to Anz.ac Day falling on the usual Lodge night.
