IN THE MANAWATU
COUNTY BUSINESS MONTHLY MEETING HELD The monthly meeting of, the Alami watu County Council was held at San son on Alonday, there being present: Councillors W. E. Barber (chairman*. W. E. Bearce, J. H. Berrctt, Jas Boyce, D. W. Reid, J. F. AlcKelvic and 11? 11. Hunt. The Public Works Department adviscyl that thu Power Board Was responsible fur the removal of pules along the new Eoxtun-Shannon main highway. The Oruua County Council wrote asking the fee payable lor the registration of sale yards. The Oroua County is to be informed that the Council is charging £1 Is. The Mangawhata Dairy Company wrote with reference to drainage from the factory across the road.—lt was resolved that the company must do the wurk. It was resolved that the. action of Councillors Perrett and Pearce with reference to conference at Bulls Bridge be endorsed. Air William Berry was appointed an inspector under the Motor Vehicles Regulations Act. Permission was granted Mr B. K. Thomson to attach a pumping plant supply pipe to th e Longburn-Rongotca Bridge during the Council’s pleasure, the work to be done to the engineer’s approval.
