“OVER-FAT” ’VARSITY OARSMEN LONDON, March 29. “Sporting Life” criticises the University system of boat-race training, which, it says, ‘‘produces artificial and over-fat heavyweights owing to too much nourishment and insufficient work. “Professional coaches would turn out men several pounds lighter and much fitter. Formerly the heavier crew generally won, but recently the lighter erew has been victorious "twice in three years.”
