As the result of a raid on houses in Tory, Taranaki tind Haining Streets yesterday, Louis Wing was fined £lO, [Wong Gun and Ah Lee were each fined £3O, while five Europeans were fined £2 each. Counsel for deefndants said it did not apear that fines could stop this form of gambling, which, he said, differed very little from the tart unions | run by Europeans.
