I The club’s champion.-hip events will have to be played off more promptly (than the handicaps, if they wish to finish this season. The committee intends to give the grass a sporting chance 'for next season, so they will be closing the courts early. The club is very ,proud of their two champion doubles [players—Mrs Watters ami Miss Walter. Their win against Airs RichardIson and Miss Calver proved them to Ibe players of no mean order.

JERUSALEM (CHALLENGERS) v. KAIWHAIKI (HOLDERS). I i The above match was played recently pm the Kaiwhaiki courts, and resulted lin a win for the holders by a large margin. Although beaten, the Jerusalem Club must lie congratulated for the sportsmanlike manner in which thev jtook their defeat. Prior to the coni[meneement of the match the following [trophies were exhibited: The Mani [Maru Challenge Cup (to be competed jtor by various clubs throughout the I Dominion) in which three members of Ithe Kaiwhaiki Club were some of the [defenders last season. The Mihi-Ruihi Tairapanga Challenge Cup: To be competed for by various clubs on the Wanganui River. The Kaiwhaiki Club are ipresent holders.
