The Daily Telegraph’s diplomatic correspondent understands that the reports from Cairo that the British Government has agreed to the appointment of an Egyptian officer as Sirdar are not without foundation, though premature, 'rhe appointment will probably be delayed until the criminal proceedings in connection with the murder of Sir Lee Stack have been finally settled.
