CANADIAN FARMERS’ GREAT NEED RECOMMENDATIONS OF A COMMISSION Received April 1, 10.10 p.m. OTTAWA, March 31. After investigating the matter for two years on behalf of the Federnl Government, Dr. Tory, president of 1’ University of Alberta, recommends I 1 long term credits should be provided moderate rates of interest for the development of agriculture in Canada. The best system would be one based on co-operation between Federal and Provincial Governments. Dr. Tory finds that “Immediate improvement in the methods of agriculture and financing are needed if Canada is to maintain her place in the world Ga agriculture.”
