She has 1700 tons of cargo lor discharge and will then go to Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge, alter loading Homeward on the New Zealand coast. The schooner Columbia River arrived at Auckland from Newcastle recently, and experienced very heavy weather, several of her sails being blown away. The Columbia River, which is a five-masted schooner, is rigged with yards on four of her masts, each carrying a triangular sail. She is a vessel of 1065 tons register, and is in command of Captain Murchison. She brought 4454 hardwood poles for electric power boards, stated to be ■the largest shipment of poles that has left Australia in one bottom. The C. and D. liner Port Lyttelton, which left London on July 22. left Panama on Wednesday for Auckland. She is due about September 5, and should be in Wellington a week later.
