WORKERS’ HOMES.

(To the Editor). Sir,—I can endorse “ Worker’s” letter re municipal cottages. A builder could easily put them up at the price, and make a profit, if anyone would buy 1 The Government cottages in Puriri Street are a better design, but what a site '. The middle of a swamp, with no visible means of draining it. As they are being fitted with earth closets (built on to the houses, and not at a distance, as such closets should be) presumably there will be no drain. How then can the bath and sink water be disposed of when the surface is under water? The foundations are too low, so the houses must be damp. Of the many sites ottered surely dry ones could have been selected. Save us from public enterprise !—I am, etc., “BUILDER.” P.S.—Does anyone know the price of above, and cost of site?
