GERMAN ENTERPRISE.
U.S.A. WAR SECRETARY OBJECTS. Received April 26, 5.5 p.m. WASHINGTON, April 25. Senator Weeks, war secretary, requested Congress to frame legislation to prevent the Germans stealing American military and commercial secrets under the protection of the American patent laws. Senator Weeks, in a letter, stated that since July, 1920, twenty-one American patents hao been issued to Germans, all of which were assigned to Krupp. This, lie declared, is significant. Out of twelve patents selected at random, eight pertain to railroad artillery. Senator Porter, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, introduced to the House two resolutions similar to the Knox resolution terminating the war with Germany and Austria. Senator La Folette, in a speech, urged Congress to adopt a resolution expressing its judgment that the Irish Republic ought to be recognised.
