A LONDON SCANDAL.
EX-OFFICERS MASQUERADE AS ORGAN-GRINDERS. LONDON, January 11. In connection with the sentence of imprisonment on a military ex-offi-cer organ-grinder on a charge of begging in the West End, the investigation disclosed that pensioned exofficers who had been organ-grinding in the West End were living in luxury a,t hotels. They were earning up to £2O weekly. It was not unusual to see queues of women in Regent Street waiting to drop coins in the caps of ex-officers, who were generally masked. The scandal had become so glaring that, the Ex-Officers’ Association had instituted the prosecution with a view to checking it.
