DUNEDIN WATERSIDE WORKERS.

(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Jan. 12. One of the principal matters dealt with at Tuesday’s meeting of the Dunedin Waterside Workers’ Union was the proposed amalgamation of the Dunedin and Port Chalmers Waterside Workers’ Union. The scheme for amalgamation has been fully considered by members of both unions, and a ballot on the question will be taken in the near future.

In common with other waterside workers throughout the Dominion, the Dunedin men considered the proposed increase in wages offered by the employers at yesterday morning’s meeting. No information is available as to the result of the Dunedin men’s ballot on this question.
