IRELAND’S CLAIM.
RECOGNITION AS A NATION. LONDON, Jan. 6. Freeman’s Journal, in a forecast of Do Valera’s message to the Irish people, says: He will demand that the peace overtures be based on the recognition of Ireland as a nation. De Valera. will express his willingness to hear tint Britains proposals are so based. He wih ask for a safe conduct while in Ireland. The Journal adds that De Valera is in touch with Sinn Fem leaders, and that the Crown lorces are seeking him. LONDON, Jan. 6. De Valera paid a three days visit to Manchester, prior to leaving England for Ireland. Ho arrived by train undisguised, and walked about the principal thoroughfares. A Sinn Fein plot to blow up the Jewel House in the Tower of London has been revealed in documents captured in a police raid. Protective measures have been adopted. The Customs officials have confiscated a quantity of cases marked “Ladies Underwear,” consigned to Ireland from the Continent. They were found to contain hundreds of the latest pattern revolvers.
