MRS. ASQUITH’S BOOK.
“A STAR SHELL OF SCANDAL.” LONDON. Nov. 7. Mr Garvin, reviewing Mrs Asquith's book, says it is a star shell of scandal, making out that Downing Street in Armageddon was a palais de danse, and that statesmen had the jazzing fever. Men will in future not express admiration for a woman without a guarantee against publicity, or propose marriage except in the presence of a solicitor. Mrs Asquith, interviewed in Paris regarding London criticisms, said: “I have given no one away mmy book. I said only one-third of what I know, oneeighth of what I feel. I had no wish to write the book differently.”
